Trenching Power to a Pond Aerator the Right Way

A pond without circulation is a pond that's slowly losing the battle. Stagnant water gets murky, oxygen levels drop, and the whole ecosystem suffers. The fix? A properly installed aerator - but that only works if the power gets there cleanly and correctly.

That's exactly what this job was about. We brought in our Bobcat T770 with a trencher attachment to cut a clean line for the electrical run feeding the pond aerator. The goal was to get power out there without tearing up the surrounding lawn any more than necessary. Tracked machines like this one handle turf well - they distribute weight evenly and give us precise control over where we're working.

This is the kind of groundwork that doesn't get a lot of attention, but it matters a lot. A buried power line done right means the aerator runs reliably for years without issue. Skip the proper installation and you're dealing with exposed lines, erosion problems, or equipment failure down the road. We'd rather do it once and do it right.

Our work goes beyond the obvious stuff like land clearing and finish grading. If there's digging, trenching, or grading involved in getting your property or setup to where it needs to be, that's squarely in our wheelhouse. We take the same care on the smaller utility jobs as we do on the big site prep work.

Good excavation is really just problem-solving with the right equipment. Whether it's running power to a water feature, clearing ground for a build, or getting a site graded and ready - the approach is the same. Solid planning, the right machine, and clean execution.
